Change: relate, repeat, reframe

Chapter 47

Approach change as a problem solving activity. Leadership must be effective, trustworthy, and hands on. Qualities must be: Focused, energized, skilled, and passionate about making things better. Have courage, be persistent, confident and poised. Be a change agent. Clearly define goals and outcome of what change must look like. This lets you know when success in change has been achieved. Quantifying: evaluate ones success in implementing change, scouting reports to see who is against the change (competitors, internal staff). Give everyone the essential training systems for skills and coaching. Have a well defined game plan that is know and understood by everyone involved in the process. Find a way to explain that plan clearly so that everyone on the team understands it and their role within it. Have a clear plan. If there is a new problem, diagnose and clearly define the real problem, identify courses of action that can solve the problem, effectively analyze each option, select and design the improvement plan, and do a thorough job of how you are going to implement your action plan. 2) Successful change plans require careful monitoring – measure individual and team performance to ensure that the right things are happening. 3) successful leaders provide feedback, coaching and rewards to shape and reinforce the actions and behaviors that are driving the change.
